About the badge

You can take more control of your freelancer business with the Availability Badge — a brightly colored "Available now" that lets clients know you’re ready to take on new work. You’ll use Connects to activate it.

Turning on your Availability Badge is a simple but effective way to stand out — it can motivate clients to check out your profile and lead to up to 70% more invites.

You can turn the badge on or off anytime, depending on your availability. It’s a great way to signal when you're ready for more work, and it puts you in control of your schedule as you build a steady flow of projects that fit your goals. 

We’ll also temporarily pause it if the cost goes above your set limit or you’re out of Connects, keeping you in control of your budget. 

Clients will see your badge in search results, recommendations, and on your profile. They can also filter for freelancers who are “Available now” — making it easier for them to find and invite you when you're open to new opportunities. 

The Availability Badge works best for

• Freelancers who are available to work right now
• Freelancers who are ready to control the flow of opportunities

Use Connects to activate the Availability Badge

You’ll use Connects to turn on the Availability Badge:

• The weekly cost of the Availability Badge may vary
• You stay in control by setting the maximum number of Connects you're willing to spend each week 

We’ll automatically pause your badge if:

• The cost goes above your set limit — you’ll never be charged more than your maximum weekly budget
• You’re don’t have enough Connects

We’ll automatically restart your paused badge once the cost is within your limit and you have enough Connects. Note that the badge won't show on your profile while it's paused.

And remember, you can always turn the badge off at any time, whether it's active or paused —  so, you'll only spend Connects when you're ready to take on more work.

Badge cost examples

• If the badge costs 14 Connects, 2 Connects will be deducted from your balance every 24 hours to add up to 14 Connects for the week
• If the badge costs 21 Connects, 1 Connect will be deducted from your balance every 8 hours
• If the badge cost changes while you're using it, you'll be charged more Connects each day. However, you'll never be charged more than the maximum you set

Turn on the Availability Badge

1. Go to Find work and look at your profile banner on the right side of the screen. Select the pencil icon ✎ next to Availability Badge
2. Set your maximum amount of Connects you want to spend in one week to keep the badge on. If the price changes to exceed this number, we'll temporarily pause the badge for you and restart it when the price drops
3. Select Turn On

You can also access the badge on your profile, under your name at the top of the page.

We'll deduct your Connects in necessary increments to meet the set amount over the course of the week, as long as the badge is turned on and does not exceed your maximum.
